400 frequently misspelled for MIDDLE SCHOOL students.
This workbook contains 80 printable pages to help your homeschooled child with frequently misspelled words. There are twenty sets of weekly challenge words with printable pages for each day of the week:
On Monday, your child will take a pretest on the 20 words and explore the toughest and easiest words, shortest and longest words, new or interesting words, use words in a question or exclamation or quotation, and practice. On Tuesday, your child will practice spelling their words using them in sentences. On Wednesday, your child will hide ten of the toughest words in a word search and write a funny story using five of the words. On Thursday, your child will practice the ten toughest (thrice) and five easiest words (once), write three questions and three exclamations, and compose three silly sentences. On Friday, your child will take a spelling test to see how much they improved since Monday.
All 400 words are research-based (studies on actual student writing and their errors). These are the words that middle-school students fail to master and continue to misspell in high school. So, the time to address this problem is in middle school.
Here are some of the frequently misspelled words: amateur, leisure, brilliance, fictitious, foreign, twelfth, courageous, tyranny, embarrass, hierarchy, niece, restaurant, courteous, maneuver, achieve, height, rhyme, whether, and many more.
